Secure in Carrying, Secure in Letting Go

Having a false sense of security is feeling secure only because you can see what’s supporting you. But to be held up & rest your full weight even without knowing for sure is to be truly secure.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:11-12‬ ‭NIV

But when all you thought could keep you is gone, when it’s not tangible or visible anymore that’s when we start to see what we were really standing on. What if the things you depended on slowly or maybe all of a sudden were tucked away? That’s when we start to fall; when the tangible starts to crumble if that’s what we were resting on.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen…since what is seen is temporary…

‬‬The security of trusting God, of putting all my hope in Him is that His support of me, His foundation that I build my life on is not conditional. It holds up whether I see, hear & feel its effects or not.

…what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NIV

Only when we step off of it and start to build elsewhere is it not effective. God doesn’t only want our trust when we can see. He doesn’t only want us to feel secure because of what we can experience physically. When those things start to be taken away then we’ll really be able to know what was supporting us.

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!

1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:12‬ NIV

‭Is your security true or false?
