He wants us to be unshakable, rooted & established
One Foundation
You can’t stand firm without something to stand on. No structure intended to be long lasting can be built on a shaky foundation. We have one foundation, one solid rock, one hope. It secures us, keeps us grounded so we can stay anchored & not drift, or crumble fall when the storms come. Our foundation is in the core truths of who God is, what effect it has on our lives & how the application of it affects the world around us.
He wants us to know who we are…whose we are
Eternal Goals
- Establishing a foundation in Christ
- Learning who God is
- What does His Word express about Him, about His plan for humanity?
- Grounded in the Word, knowing the Truth
- Truth is not relative. Will we continue taking the fruit or allow God to define good & evil?
- Relevance of all of this in my life
- Where do I fit in the plan of God for the world? Is the Bible still relevant to my life today?
- How do I apply it practically for governing my daily life?
The Hope- My Anchor
Why? Hebrews 6:18

This is why we have hope. Because God cannot lie, EVERYTHING He has said about Himself, His character, His nature, is TRUE. Everything He said about me is TRUE.
Starting with creation
Everything God created, He said was good AND that I am created in His image & after His likeness. That means I bear the image of God & His purpose in creating me was not for a life of sin but for good. Anything in me or about me that is not good, is not of God. More importantly He has set the standard for what is right. Judging good & evil on our own terms was never meant to be our duty. Rely on what HE says is true.
This is the beginning
The basics of everything I believe about God and about myself is anchored in these two things, these two unchangeable things. This is so important because if I believe this about God, it shapes everything His Word says. Why? Because it contains His promises, His purpose & His plan to restore all of creation & reconcile us to Him and as a part of that, His plan & will for me. And I have access to all of this because God Himself provided the Lamb, Jesus, the ultimate High Priest, the perfect sacrifice. Now, back to those UNCHANGEABLE things, He CANNOT lie- what His Word says is true. HAVE FAITH, BELIEVE. Live an anchored life.
This is the foundation.
These are the basics.
