Also, I kept getting this image when He was putting you on my heart. That of a sunflower. Sunflowers are really cool! I don’t know too much about them but I’ve heard they actually move, not just haphazardly…but they shift and move to face the sun. But I just want you to know that no matter what curveballs may be thrown our as we seek His face and just abide in Him as children (in other words as we face and draw life and light from the SON) we grow, flourish, are matured and sanctified!

The Son, the sun…we have a constant, daily reminder of Jesus. The sun we see every morning. That gives us light & sustains life. But who more light & life-giving than Him. The bright and morning star they both are. The light of the world, that too. Without them we are in darkness. In Him & in it are life. The sun, that initiates the cycle of life bringing up sprouts from the ground & Him giving us new life. They shine on the good and the bad. We can all feel their warmth if we choose to. You can stay indoors in darkness, curtains drawn, but the sun is still there, still shining, ALWAYS shining. Even if covered by clouds. It does not cease to be the sun or stop shining because we don’t see it. Go above clouds. As it is with the Son.

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.

John 1:4 NIV

I can stay in darkness, or come out to Him. I can let the circumstances of life block Him from my view. BUT, He is still there, always there. He is the Son, the light, in spite of me, in spite of our circumstances. Always there, always shining. He does not cease to be or stop shining because, “the darkness has not understood it.” He is the light of all mankind.

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome [understood] it.

John 1:5 NIV

Think of the darkness that covered the earth at His death. It was as if the sun died when the Son died. Then early Sunday morning, as the Son rose, the sun rose. Be reminded of Him as you face that brilliant sun, that brings light & life. Even when the clouds block it out remember it is still there, you might just have to go a little higher. It is still there, just as He always is. The Son & the sun.
